Windchill-"Pay Homage"

Holy god. This is one the greatest songs I've heard in a really long time. The lyricism is just....awesome. It's full of references to old school hip-hop, so if you guys know your 90s hip-hop this song will make you smile. And, the beat is super upbeat and relaxing. My #2 favorite beat of all time, behind "No Rest For The Weary." Check it.

Fortune Family: "Take Me Away"

Damn. I've always liked the pitch-affected vocal samples, and this song perfectly exhibits why. I don't know much about these guys, but their beats are on point, and their lyrics are clever and playful. PLEASE listen to this, you won't regret it.

People Under The Stairs: "Plunken 'Em"

This is from all the way back in 2003, but I still put this on in the car all the time. Thes One and Double-K do it the right way, all the time. If you're looking for a good, laid-back, lyrical hip-hop album, check out PUTS' "Or Stay Tuned." Enjoy.

A-Plus: "Kiss The Sky"

If this song was just that smooth beat and that soul singing in the beginning I would be happy. But throw in some perfect A-Plus (haha! that pun sucked...) flow, and it's golden. His stuff with Hiero was dope, but this where he really became ....awesome. Listen up.

Panacea: "One Shine"

Damn. These guys are on top of their game, both in terms of MC'ing and beats. Take a listen.

For those of you that know Sabzi, you probably already know about this little project. If you don;t, he's the producer/DJ for Seattle rap group Blue Scholars, who you'll no doubt see on this blog. This is a project with Sabzi on beats, and....some girl? Sabzi cites her as "my friend Kelsey," so make of that what you will. Anyway, I'll shut up and let you listen.
